Join us on Tuesday, 10 March 2026, at Dentons Sydney for an evening of art, storytelling, and culture. We are excited to be joined by Pip Leembruggen, Director of Alpitye Art Studio, and Charmaine Pwerle, granddaughter of the legendary Minnie Pwerle, who will share insights into the vital role Indigenous women artists play in their communities, as storytellers, leaders, and cultural custodians.
Artworks will be on display and available for purchase.
Event Details
Date: Tuesday, 10 March 2026
Time: 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

The 2026 International Women’s Day theme is “Give to Gain”, which highlights the power of support, generosity, and collaboration in creating opportunities for women. There’s no better way to celebrate than by supporting women Indigenous artists, as well as the important work Alpitye does to empower them and the broader Indigenous communities of Central Australia.
Alpitye Studio is a vibrant art centre based in Alice Springs, Northern Territory, supporting over thirty Indigenous artists from across the desert regions of Central Australia. The studio provides mentoring, materials, and opportunities for artists to develop their skills, share their culture, and bring their stories to a wider audience. Each artwork carries a certificate of authenticity and the artist’s story. Alpitye plays a vital role in nurturing Indigenous talent and ensuring that these voices and traditions continue to be celebrated and respected.
If you are Sydney-based, don’t miss this special opportunity to engage with, learn from, and celebrate the creativity and leadership of Indigenous women artists. We look forward to seeing you there!
